Four 'Miroir Sprint' Le Miroir Du Tour newspapers covering the 1957 Tour De France. Issues 577 B and 578 A / B / C are included. The front covers feature striking images. Eventual winner, Frenchman Jacques Anquetil is pictured in the infamous yellow jersey with compatriot Andre Darrigade. Points classification winner Jean Forestier is pictured, he would hold onto the yellow jersey for two stages before Anquetil would take over and hold it all the way to Paris. Swiss Hans Hollenstein is pictured looking worse for wear, unsurprisingly he would not finish the race. Finally, Andre Darrigade is pictured in yellow (he would win three stages of the 1957 Tour, including the first and last) alongside compatriot Jean Stablinski who would go on to win the 1962 World Championship Road Race.

The inner coverage features other stand out riders from the 1957 Tour De France. The spectator guide features all of the riders and teams who entered the Tour. Mountain's classification winner Gastone Nencini of Italy is pictured alongside teammates Pierino Baffi and Nino Defilippis with the technical director Alfredo Binda. The combativity award was won in 1957 by Nicolas Barone, other French riders included the previous year's winner (1956) Roger Walkowiak. Other notable riders pictured include, Charly Gaul, Federico Bahamontes and Carlo Clerici.

The newspapers display beautifully as cycling ephemera. Never intended to last the test of time, the articles provide valuable insights into the cultural context surrounding the Tour De France of 1957 while documenting the riders everyday lives. The newspapers could be framed for wall art, to be admired as decoration, used for research or for an everyday coffee table read. Preserving the newspapers allows these histories of cycling to be examined from a variety of perspectives.
